Dietmar Hopp

Cofounded German software firm SAP with four former IBM colleagues. Retired from SAP's supervisory board last April when he turned 65. Now has more time to tend to his luxury golf resort near Cannes, Le Domaine de Terre Blanche, and his five-star spa in Germany, Schlosshotel Bühlerhöhe. An avid sportsman, Hopp sponsors an ice hockey club in Mannheim, a golf club near Walldorf and a soccer stadium in his hometown of Hoffheim.

Dietmar Hopp (born April 26, 1940 in Heidelberg, Germany) is an entrepreneur. He was one of the founders of SAP AG in 1972 with other former IBM employees Hans Werner Hector, Klaus Tschira, Claus Wellenreuther and Hasso Plattner. He was the 698th richest person in the world according to Forbes Magazine.
